The history of the BDO network

Founded in 1963 by British, Dutch, German, American and Canadian firms, BDO has been expanding its presence and services around the world for almost 50 years to better meet the needs of its clients.

  • 1963: Firms from the UK, Netherlands, Germany, USA and Canada decide to join forces and share their know-how and experience to better meet their clients' needs. They became known as the Binder Seidman International Group.
  • 1973: 10 years later, the name Binder Dijker Otte & Co (BDO) is adopted.
  • 1988: The firms build an international network to offer clients excellence, proximity and responsiveness. The BDO logo is adopted and the network continues its international expansion.
  • 2007: The French branch of BDO is created in December 2007 by six partners who merge their respective firms: ABPR, Léger & Associés, Patrick Giffaux.
  • 2009: BDO becomes the single signature for all network members.
