BDO advises on the sale of the AERO AUTOMOBILES dealership group to the BERNIER group.
On 4 January 2021, the AERO AUTOMOBILES group was sold to the BERNIER automotive distribution group.
Chaired by brothers Pascal and Frédéric Menjucq, the AERO AUTOMOBILES group is a major player in the distribution of the Opel, Kia, Jeep and Suzuki brands in the Essonne region through their sites in Massy and Gometz-le-Chatel. In addition, the group operates AFTERCHOC, an independent body shop, as well as a car wash under the ELEPHANT BLEU brand.
With an experienced team and strong locations, AERO AUTOMOBILES achieves a turnover of nearly €30 million each year through the sale of approximately 1,000 new vehicles and more than 700 used vehicles.
The BERNIER group, with a turnover of more than €450 million, is ranked in the top 30 automotive distribution groups in 2020 with more than 13,000 new vehicles sold, mainly under PSA group brands, and nearly 11,000 used vehicles.
"We are delighted to have arranged the sale of the AERO AUTOMOBILES group, which has enabled the founders to fulfil their assets and pass on their company to a dynamic group that will be able to sustain its activity. Moreover, this merger is particularly strategic for the buyer who, in addition to completing its territorial coverage of its historic brands, is also gaining a foothold in the distribution of FCA group brands (Jeep) shortly after the confirmation of the creation of the STELLANTIS group, the result of the merger between PSA and FCA", explains Thibaut BAPTISTE, a partner at BDO Corporate Finance, advisor to the seller.
